Navan2Navan is a Community Driven Initiative to develop social and economic links between Ireland and Canada. The Navan2Navan Organisation will travel to Navan Ontario from Navan Ireland in August 2012 to udertake a trade and culture visit. The cultural part of this Canadian visit involves a team of Navan musicians taking part in the Navan Fair and other events in Ottawa. The Trade part of this visit involves a Tourism and Enterprise stand in conjunction with Tourism Ireland at the Navan Fair. The Tourism Initiative will be to promote Navan and the Meath area, as part of the Boyne Valley, as an ideal location for holidays or stopovers in Ireland. There will also be a trade event at the Irish Embassy in Ottawa where the Navan2Navan representatives will meet members of the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce and local business representatives.

The Furry Gilberts are busy rehearsing a new song; written and arranged by Declan Mc Keown and the Furry Gilberts.The song is based on how the two towns of Navan, Ireland and Navan, Ontario are coming together thanks to the journey made by Michael O Meara in the 1800’s.Full details will be announced soon including a launch party for the new song which will be released as a single.The single will be downloadable from iTunes and the Navan2Navan E-Commerce Store.

The Navan2Navan organisation will be launching the E-Commerce Section of the Navan2Navan website in the coming weeks.The Navan2Navan E-Commerce website will be a platform for all local services, trade and industry within the extended Navan and Meath area to promote their business and sell their products online.This is part of a larger operation to raise the international profile of Business and Tourism in the Meath area.The Navan2Navan E-Commerce website will be available to Commercial Businesses, Artists, Musicians and Individuals.There will be no charge to list products/services or to have a link to your own website on the Navan2Navan E-Commerce website.A small commission on sales made through the Navan2Navan website will be charged to cover the administration of the website.Navan2Navan is a not-for-profit organisation set up with the intention of promoting Navan County Meath, its businesses, and traders, as part of the Boyne Valley Region, on a worldwide scale.
Likewise Navan2Navan is also open to Canadian Businesses, Artists, Musicians and individuals who wish to promote their company, product or service on the Irish market.Navan2Navan is a two way street for E-Commerce between Ireland and Canada and it is our Mission to create strong cultural and economic links between Ireland and Canada.

This year’s Rose of Tralee participant from Ottawa, Canada; Aveleigh Eastman and her family along with Austin Comerton (President at Ireland-Canada Chamber Of Commerce, Ottawa Chapter,President at Rose of Tralee Ottawa Centre and Producer and Host at The Gaelic Hour CHIN 97.9FM) were guests of honour of the Navan2Navan group at the Newgrange Hotel in Navan County Meath last night. The Navan2Navan group is involved in an extensive campaign to create links in Canada and develop strong relationships with our Canadian friends for the benefit of our two countries. Aveleigh was in Ireland to take part in the first stage of the Rose of Tralee Event in Portlaoise and she has successful in progressing to the final stages of the Rose of Tralee in August. The Navan2Navan group wish to thank Aveleigh and her contingency for their visit to Navan where they enjoyed a brief tour comprising of The Hill Of Tara, The Hill of Skyrne and Burke’s Ice Cream Factory which was organised by the Navan2Navan group. We wish Aveleigh continued success in The Rose Of Tralee Event.

The Navan2Navan Organisation has moved on from being a group of musicians, dancers and singers travelling to the Navan Fair in Ontario, Canada.
Navan2Navan recently launched their website with the endorsement of Canadian Ambassador to Ireland His Excellency Loyola Hearn who discussed the relationship between Ireland and Canada with members of Navan2Navan, Navan Town Council, Navan Chamber of Commerce and local businesses including representatives from Lir Chocolates.Mr Hearn also talked about the opportunities available for local businesses that wish to develop an export relationship with Canada and how Canada will welcome Irish Business and Culture.
The most serious undertaking of the Navan2Navan visit to Navan, Ontario is the organisation of two Trade Shows; one at the Navan Fair, and another in Ottawa city.The Navan2Navan Trade Shows are being held with the assistance of Tourism Ireland in Canada, The Irish Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Ottawa, The Irish Embassy in Canada, The Canadian Embassy in Ireland and the IDA.
